The Practically Genius Awards were created to showcase the most innovative organizations using Formstack’s digitization and workflow automation processes. Winners of the awards were announced October 6th at Formstack’s inaugural customer and partner conference, Practically Genius 2021. This year’s winners truly transformed their business operations and customer experience through unique solutions in their industries. 

Below, we highlight the winners—some Formstack clients and Formstack partners—and how they reimagined the way they work to stand out from the other amazing nominees. 

Genius in Healthcare Customer Award Winner

The Genius in Healthcare Customer Award recognizes healthcare organizations that have used Formstack to streamline workflows, improve care, and exceed patient expectations. No one did that better during such a trying year than Franciscan Health. Through a cross-departmental lift, Franciscan Health digitized its healthcare workflows. With Formstack Forms and Documents, they had more use cases than we could count, including one where they quickly and easily collected staff and patient COVID-19 vaccination status across a variety of locations, making it easy to review and organize necessary data in a timely and efficient manner.

Genius in Education Customer Award Winner 

The Genius in Education Customer Award celebrates education institutions that have used Formstack to simplify data management, improve learning programs, and enhance student engagement. We scoured the nominees and knew we’d found our winner in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), which represents the interests of occupational therapy practitioners and students to improve the quality of occupational therapy services. 

Over the past year, AOTA replaced paper evaluation forms sent to students and fieldwork educators with a digitized certification process using Formstack Forms and Documents. This new method not only standardized the process and improved data accuracy across hundreds of universities, but is also already positively impacting the certification of more than 200,000 occupational therapists every year.

Genius in Financial Services Customer Award Winner

Given to a financial services organization that uses Formstack to automate processes, enhance efficiency, and provide exceptional client experiences, the Genius in Financial Services Customer Award required the winner to reimagine an industry often built on paper and files. And our winner did just that. Christensen Group Insurance is the largest locally-owned, independent insurance and employee benefits agency in Minnesota, and they used Formstack to reach new heights—and new clients. 

Originally, they had personalized booklets that took weeks and hundreds of thousands of dollars to complete. The process required so much back and forth that they could only offer the booklets to a very limited number of clients. But with Formstack, the time commitment was reduced to 10 minutes—saving them both time and money while also allowing them to provide booklets to more clients to seal the deal. 

Genius in Digital Transformation Customer Award Winner

Recognizing organizations in verticals outside of healthcare, education, and financial services that have used Formstack to accelerate business transformation and growth, the Genius in Digital Transformation Customer Award saw many outstanding nominees. However, the winner stood out not only due to how they massively increased their reach, but also how they were able to implement new workflows across multiple channels and departments. 

As part of the NBA, the Memphis Grizzlies are dedicated to delivering a world-class championship experience to their fans, community, partners, and staff—and they took that experience to the next level with Formstack. They used our integration with Salesforce to recreate their forms, resulting in the ability to keep better track of their data and improve lead generation. They were also able to make their email marketing more personalized, showing how Formstack was used throughout so many different departments in their organization.

The Genius in Healthcare Award highlights consulting partners that have used Formstack to help healthcare customers streamline workflows, improve care, and exceed patient expectations—all of which describe Coastal Cloud and its success in turning the healthcare industry into a more digital one.

Coastal Cloud is a rapidly growing consulting partner that uses a “business process first” approach that lets their healthcare team lead the way in both customer engagement and thought leadership around patient experience. Their collaboration with Formstack has resulted in roll-outs for multiple major healthcare institutions, including moving more than 100 patient forms to Formstack for one hospital alone. 

Genius in Education Partner Award Winner 

This award recognizes consulting partners that have used Formstack to help education customers simplify data management, improve learning programs, and enhance student engagement.

Not only is Servio a woman-owned IT consulting firm focused on the education industry, but it has implemented Formstack solutions for over 10 different educational institutions, including universities, K-12, and specialized schools. To help its customers reimagine their student application experience, Servio uses Formstack for Salesforce, which allows them to utilize data in new, more efficient ways. 

Genius in Financial Services Partner Award Winner

The Genius in Financial Services Award celebrates consulting partners that have used Formstack to help financial services customers automate processes, enhance efficiency, and provide exceptional service. Our winner, OMNICOMMANDER, took that even further by setting up Formstack solutions for more than 50 different credit unions so they could transform their application process. Over the past year, OMNICOMMANDER has also created a Formstack practice, been an active participant in the Formstack partner community, started rolling out Formstack Documents to customers to help with document automation, and has even become a user of Formstack Sign for digital signature capture! They truly are Formstack specialists and a partner that goes above and beyond. 

Genius in Digital Transformation Partner Award Winner 

The Genius in Digital Transformation Partner Award highlights consulting partners that have used Formstack to help customers outside of healthcare, education, and financial services drive business transformation and growth. Yet, out of all the nominees, Impulse Creative stood out because they are a HubSpot and Formstack partner agency that helps companies dedicated to growth achieve their goals with marketing, sales, branding, RevOps, and development. Using Formstack, they were able to help their clients transform existing spreadsheets and PDFs that were individually created, printed, and signed into an automated process that only takes five minutes—saving them 2-3 hours each time! 

Creative Digital Innovation of the Year 

The award for Creative Digital Innovation of the Year honors a customer or partner that has shown exceptional creativity and innovation in how they’ve used Formstack to reimagine business processes, improve customer and employee experiences, and drive growth. After going through the nominees, we decided on Tri Counties Bank due to how quickly they implemented solutions that impacted thousands. 

Serving communities throughout Northern and Central California, Tri Counties Bank launched an online Payment Protection Program loan application process in one week with the help of Formstack and Salesforce. The digital process they implemented originated and funded more than 4,700 loans totaling nearly $633 million, helping to preserve more than 66,000 jobs throughout California.

Formstack Customer Champion Award Winner

Unlike the previous awards, the Formstack Customer Champion Award nominees were chosen by Formstack employees. They were looking for customers who consistently provide critical feedback to improve Formstack products and demonstrate unparalleled support to the Formstack community.

Kow Samman quickly became a frontrunner due to his university’s adoption of the Formstack Platform to automate processes and the consistent and valuable feedback he has provided that has been instrumental in developing industry-leading Formstack products. Kow has also advocated for integrating the Formstack product certification program into the Azusa Pacific student curriculum so students can develop new skills that will set them apart in the job market.

Formstack Partner Champion Award Winner 

Similar to the above award, nominees for our final award were selected by Formstack employees. After choosing partners who consistently provide critical feedback to improve Formstack products and demonstrate unparalleled support to the Formstack community, we selected Carabiner Group. 

Carabiner Group calls themselves a “Formstack House” because they’ve created countless Formstack solutions for customers in university athletics, boutique investment banking, SBA 504 loans, and both consumer and commercial lending. Not only did they reach Formstack Gold Partner status within one year, but nearly all of their consulting team is Formstack trained and certified. Seamus and team are leaders in the Formstack partner community and proactively engage cross-functionally by co-selling and co-marketing customer growth initiatives. They set the bar high, and we couldn’t be more proud to call them a partner.

The Genius in Digital Transformation Partner Award highlights consulting partners that have used Formstack to help customers outside of healthcare, education, and financial services drive business transformation and growth. Yet, out of all the nominees, Impulse Creative stood out because they are a HubSpot and Formstack partner agency that helps companies dedicated to growth achieve their goals with marketing, sales, branding, RevOps, and development. Using Formstack, they were able to help their clients transform existing spreadsheets and PDFs that were individually created, printed, and signed into an automated process that only takes five minutes—saving them 2-3 hours each time! 

Creative Digital Innovation of the Year 

The award for Creative Digital Innovation of the Year honors a customer or partner that has shown exceptional creativity and innovation in how they’ve used Formstack to reimagine business processes, improve customer and employee experiences, and drive growth. After going through the nominees, we decided on Tri Counties Bank due to how quickly they implemented solutions that impacted thousands. 

Serving communities throughout Northern and Central California, Tri Counties Bank launched an online Payment Protection Program loan application process in one week with the help of Formstack and Salesforce. The digital process they implemented originated and funded more than 4,700 loans totaling nearly $633 million, helping to preserve more than 66,000 jobs throughout California.

Unlike the previous awards, the Formstack Customer Champion Award nominees were chosen by Formstack employees. They were looking for customers who consistently provide critical feedback to improve Formstack products and demonstrate unparalleled support to the Formstack community.

Kow Samman quickly became a frontrunner due to his university’s adoption of the Formstack Platform to automate processes and the consistent and valuable feedback he has provided that has been instrumental in developing industry-leading Formstack products. Kow has also advocated for integrating the Formstack product certification program into the Azusa Pacific student curriculum so students can develop new skills that will set them apart in the job market.

Similar to the above award, nominees for our final award were selected by Formstack employees. After choosing partners who consistently provide critical feedback to improve Formstack products and demonstrate unparalleled support to the Formstack community, we selected Carabiner Group. 

Carabiner Group calls themselves a “Formstack House” because they’ve created countless Formstack solutions for customers in university athletics, boutique investment banking, SBA 504 loans, and both consumer and commercial lending. Not only did they reach Formstack Gold Partner status within one year, but nearly all of their consulting team is Formstack trained and certified. No one did that better during such a trying year than Franciscan Health. Through a cross-departmental lift, Franciscan Health digitized its healthcare workflows. With Formstack Forms and Documents, they had more use cases than we could count, including one where they quickly and easily collected staff and patient COVID-19 vaccination status across a variety of locations, making it easy to review and organize necessary data in a timely and efficient manner.

We scoured the nominees and knew we’d found our winner in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), which represents the interests of occupational therapy practitioners and students to improve the quality of occupational therapy services. 

Over the past year, AOTA replaced paper evaluation forms sent to students and fieldwork educators with a digitized certification process using Formstack Forms and Documents. This new method not only standardized the process and improved data accuracy across hundreds of universities, but is also already positively impacting the certification of more than 200,000 occupational therapists every year.

Given to a financial services organization that uses Formstack to automate processes, enhance efficiency, and provide exceptional client experiences, the Genius in Financial Services Customer Award required the winner to reimagine an industry often built on paper and files. And our winner did just that. Christensen Group Insurance is the largest locally-owned, independent insurance and employee benefits agency in Minnesota, and they used Formstack to reach new heights—and new clients. 

Originally, they had personalized booklets that took weeks and hundreds of thousands of dollars to complete. The process required so much back and forth that they could only offer the booklets to a very limited number of clients. But with Formstack, the time commitment was reduced to 10 minutes—saving them both time and money while also allowing them to provide booklets to more clients to seal the deal.
